A walk in the sun

Were still full of cold but we cant stay in bed forever, so we took a little walk and did some jobs in the village.

We live in the old part of town, its really nice to walk around and look at all the old buildings.

Its such a warm and sunny day, cant believe were in our t-shirts its nearly October. My parents live up north and they have their woollies on. Its funny how a few hours can make a difference.

Tea time, so I'll have to leave it there, bye xx

Farm yard themed blanket

I finally decided what to do with all that wool. Little man is getting a farm yard themed blanket. I'm making different coloured knitted squares, then sewing a crocheted picture on them, like animals, tractor's that sort of thing. Haven't worked out the finished design yet, I'm winging it.

I've cast on 40 stitches with 4 mm needles and I'm knitting a plain square. Hey it matches his socks.

Its been such a long time since I've picked up the needles, forgot what to do.

My needles are on fire and so are my fingers ahhhh. Why do your hands always hurt after a knitting break.

Day 2. New socks, 3 cups of tea and several cheap horror movies watched later, yeah half way done.

Super Moon

We watched the super moon out the window last night, it was so beautiful, gave me goose bumps. I had to skip getting my telescope out because were still really ill, but my dad took some photo's when the moon went red, I'll post a few when he emails me.

I dragged us out of bed today, thought some fresh air would do us good, its a glorious day. Little man lasted half an hour, then wanted to go back inside because he was tired, poor thing. He gave it his best shot.

Cant believe the leaves are on the change again, where does the time go. Flies away to fast.

Here's me with my twenty layers of clothing, just can't seem to get warm, stupid cold.

My pretty Lilly's have come out now in the vase.

Pre decorating art work from little man on our walls, anything to keep him quiet haha.

Little man is asleep next to me and I think I'm going to join him for an afternoon nap. Bye for now xx

Candles and cosyness

This morning was so dark, the sky was black. I put on some candles to cheer us up and make things cosy. I had a nice bowl of porridge to keep me going. I caught little man's cold and feel like a zombie, so today were both sick in bed again, what a week its been. My husbands next ha ha, he will not escape, i'll breath on him to make sure.

My hubby gave me flowers yesterday, they were beautiful, whilst little man cleaned the breakfast dishes I took some nice pic's.

I hope the fascination  with washing up doesn't wear off quick, I like the help!

This was yesterday in the garden, what a change from today.

One lonely strawberry left. We'll have him on our yogurt.

The weather has been crazy this year. My bulbs for next year have shot up already. Wonder if they will make it through the winter.

First of the holly berry's are out, Christmas here we come! You should see the shops round by us, full of Christmas stuff since August.

DIY

Yesterday we spent all day stripping wall paper. Fun it was not! We've had damp problems for ages so the paper just had to go. At one point we wished we'd never started when the plaster came peeling off with the wallpaper, noooooooo!.

This room is a complete mess, we found massive holes everywhere which had just been papered over and not fixed. I just don't get why people do it, their so lazy. Anyway it won't take us long to patch everything up, we'll just have to bite our lip and get on with it.

Thank god for coffee to keep me going.

I was knackered after all that DIY, so it was a quick chicken korma for tea. I needed comfort food that night.

It's sad but I can't live without my steamer, it makes everything taste so much better.

I need a bigger steamer though, can never fit everything in, were greedy buggers and eat to much.

Yummy egg noodles to go with it.

Finished yeah yeah wheres my daggers mmmmmm.

Rainy day knitting

What a rainy day its been, hasn't stopped pouring down. Little man was ill, so we've had a veg out day in our PJ's.

Pepper Pig has been playing non stop, so while little man was occupied in bed sweating and being grumpy. I took the opportunity to have a look at all my hobby stuff, which has been under the bed for the last year collecting dust.

Last year my mother in law gave me loads of free kits. They came with the knitting mags she collects. There is some really nice wool in there. I'm thinking of crocheting little man a chevron blanket for his new bed.

I might also do some little decorations for Christmas, I found some really pretty glittery red wool. I don't think I can manage a big project at the moment, its to hard with work and looking after the family. I'm hoping a smaller project will be more easier to finish and I won't get fed up.

Found my weird little monkey kit in a box, I've had him for years half finished. I must crack on and get him done. I only have the body, face and tail left to do.

Here's that chicken Kiev pizza I had on Friday, not a crumb was left.
