Christmas reflections

Well I'm back after having a fantastic Christmas, however all those months building up to the event and then poof! its seems to be gone in a blink of an eye, what crazyness.

I spent November wrapping presents, decorating the house with homemade Christmas dec's, drinking mulled wine and listening to my Christmas cd's, it was heaven. No mad rush this year, I'm very proud, got myself organized early and all that was left to do was enjoy the festive season and chill out. Which is a first for me because I usually leave everything to the last minute and by the time the big day comes I feel like a worn out rag.

December was spent stuffing my face with chocolate, crisps and my favourite pate on toast. And watching everyone have fun opening their gifts. In a few more days it will be 2017 and the only thing I'm thinking about is not my new years resolutions but how on earth am I going to fit into my work trousers next week.

I'm looking forward to the new year, 2016 has been a rollercoaster and I'm hoping this new year will be a settled one, here's crossing my fingers.

Hope everyone had a nice time, whatever they were doing xxx

Happy New Year to you all!

Chicken dinner

Every time I walk to work my enemy is waiting for me with out fail.

Oh no he has spotted me again.

Here's the fiendish chicken nugget who keeps chasing me down the street, pecking at my heels.

I'll have the last laugh though, you will be on a plate soon, smothered in gravy haha.

A late Halloween post

Well I'm a bit late in my Halloween posting. The past month has been manic with work and trying to get organized for Christmas. This is the first time in ages I've had an evening to myself and I can check in.

We took little man to a Halloween party at our local community centre on the Sunday. It was packed with people you could hardly move, but we had fun all the same. Stuffed ourselves with e-numbers and nearly drowned in a washing up bowl, bobbing for apples. Little man was a wimp and didn't like the scary maskies (as he calls them) so Batman it was.

After the party I thought we could let off some fireworks in our garden. I used to love them when I was little, but little man was scared stiff. I forget sometimes that he is still young. The garden was pitch black  that evening and little man kept turning around in mad panicky circles, flashing his torch in all the corners of the garden screaming that he could see monsters everywhere, think I've scared him for life haha.

Came across this great house on our travels, the photos don't do it justice though. Every inch of the front was crammed with graves,  rats and things that go bump in the night.

Everyone is passed out asleep and I'm cuddled up warm watching telly, I was knackered  after all that bouncy castle bouncing. My excuse was little man was too small and I had to go on there to hold his hand and help him haha. Health and safety reasons of course.

The weather has been so mild this month we've had a late invasion of ladybirds, everywhere I turn there seems to be one staring at me.

Well that's it for tonight, think I'll crack on with some crochet.

Pumkins Pumkins everywhere

One of my favourite times of the year is here again. Time to dig out the decorations, I'm running a bit behind this year, usually have them up by now haha.

Yeah Yeah gassssss

Excellent news the work men have finished after 2 weeks of racket outside our house. We now have a gas supply yeah yeah. My dreams are very small aren't they.

After school dig

Picked little man up from school and he fancied going to the beach for a dig, so thought we'd make the most of the sun again and popped down for a bit.

The metal detectors were all out in force. It was so funny I could hear him talking to his mate, after hours of searching, one chap made 7p and the other found 25p. Back to the day job.

We buried Grandpa Tumble, because were all friends!

Took a packed lunch and bought some chippies.

Little man said I wasn't allowed the big spade because it was to dangerous for me.
Oh yeah!

Time for an ice cream then home for tea.

Chickens on the run

During the past week, we've been enjoying the last warm sunny afternoons in the garden.  The cold weather will kick in soon, so were making the best of it before were trapped inside. Can't believe its the end of October and were still in t-shirts.

Pretty October blue skies

The tomato plants are still going and our strawberry/raspberry bushes are producing fruit too. We've had a good crop this year.

Getting ready for winter, trimming all the trees back.

Little man spends hours bug hunting, he loves it.

What have we got today?

mmmmmm the joys of woodlice.

Bored of woodlice, he decided to make a rock pool, with leaves as fish.

A finishing touch, some water for the fish.

Look mummy a shark!

The chicken nuggets have escaped. We see spy you.

We need a few more for a pie, the mice can share that one.

Can't wait for Halloween, mmmmmm roasted marsh mellows. There not going to do my diet much good, but I don't care.

Bye bye October sky's.

Hygge

I like the sound of this.
A good way to live.

I'm determined to finish this blanket before the winter sets in. Do you ever have a project that never seems to get finished? Well this is mine. I will not be beaten.

I can tell winter is on its way, soon as it starts getting colder, I feel compelled to get the candles out and stock up on dvds. I never watch telly during the summer months but its all I want to do in winter, snuggle up and hide.

I really fancy watching this movie. Sounds interesting.
